The consortium

ART consortium focuses on assembly solutions for LDOs (Linear Deformable Objects) such as wires, gaskets, and medical tubing.*
The consortium consists of leading Israeli robotic companies along with the top academic institutes led by award-winning professors. It is supported by The Israeli Innovation Authority, which promotes and supports the bubbling robotic field in Israel.

Vision
The industrial world is embracing the new 4.0 industry concept where manufacturing, order fulfillment and tailor-made products are manufactured by digitally interconnected webs of flexible robotic systems capable of producing low-volume, highly complex products efficiently. The consortium develops essential technological building blocks that will make this vision possible.

The research focus on providing intuitive assembly of Deformable Objects (DO) with robotic grasping & manipulation technologies, that will be demonstrated on LDOs. Additional research addresses the need to automate the process from design to assembly, by breaking assembly processes and operations into logical building blocks that can be used by various robotic systems.


Robotic assembly for LDO

The aim of ART Consortium is to provide end-to-end solutions for current and future challenges in the area of LDO (Linear Deformable Objects) assembly such as wires, seals and medical tubes, by integrating technology and expertise across all process steps. The R&D outcomes will enhance and strengthen the Robotic eco-system in Israel, based on synergy among manufacturers, hi-tech companies, academic institutes, and industries.

* The term LDO is interchangeable with DLO (Deformable Linear Object).
